Diane Boyd’s tenure with Inframark began in April 2019, when she joined our team as a Sewer Operator in Training at the Newburgh, NY facility. Her dedication and passion for her work quickly became evident, leading to a transfer to Carmel, NY, where she assumed the role of Water Operator and earned her C and D water treatment licenses. Diane’s journey took an unexpected turn when, after just one year in her role as Water Operator, she was presented with a unique opportunity to step in as an interim  Project Manager, while that colleague was on leave. Diane embraced the challenge wholeheartedly, demonstrating her readiness to take on new responsibilities and her commitment to the success of the project. Diane shared “I have always been the type of person when a door opens, I jump at the opportunity. I was nervous for my new role, but I was ready for the challenge.”

Today, Diane stands as a testament to resilience, adaptability, and determination. Diane has seamlessly transitioned into the permanent role of Project Manager for the Carmel Project, overseeing five Sewer and three Water plants. Diane’s leadership and team-building skills shine brightly. Despite the demanding nature of the role, she effectively manages a team of 13 operators and one administrator, ensuring the continued smooth operation of the facilities under her purview and supporting her team at every turn. In this capacity, she continues to excel, leading her team with unwavering dedication and a commitment to excellence.

Reflecting on her passion for the industry and her experience at Inframark, Diane reminisces, “I remember the first time I walked through the sewer plant and immediately knew I was in the right place. I was so interested in the process and the significance of the work I would be doing. It struck me how most people never consider what happens after they flush their toilet—it’s truly fascinating and takes a great deal of work behind the scenes to make sure we return the water back to the environment in a responsible way.”

In addition to her enthusiasm for her work, Diane appreciates the supportive culture fostered at Inframark. “I have always felt that Inframark has done a great job in providing opportunities for growth and learning,” she affirms. Diane further highlights the supportive relationships within her team and with her supervisors. “I feel incredibly fortunate to be surrounded by a team and supervisors who prioritize collaborative and supportive relationships. We all know we can rely on each other- and that sense of support is truly special.”

Diane’s story embodies the spirit of the Women of Inframark, showcasing the invaluable contributions of women within our organization. Diane shares advice for women considering working in this industry, “Go for it!  The growth and opportunities are endless.  My mantra in life has always been ‘Work hard in Silence; let Success be your Noise.’” Join us in applauding Diane for her outstanding achievements and unwavering commitment to excellence.
