Celebrating Our Continued Partnership with Opelika, AL
At Inframark, we’re proud to celebrate our continuing partnership with the city of Opelika, a relationship that was established in 2005, and has thrived ever since.
For nearly 20 years, Inframark’s local Opelika team, which now includes approximately 75 staff members, has provided a comprehensive range of services to ensure various city and community services run reliably and effectively. Each service we provide contributes to the quality of life for the 33,000 residents of Opelika, a vibrant city adjacent to Auburn University. From operating and maintaining wastewater treatment plants and managing the wastewater collection system to supporting various public works services, such as building maintenance and parks and recreation infrastructure, our team is deeply embedded in the fabric of the Opelika community. Our responsibilities also extend to managing and maintaining traffic signals and signage, preparing for and staffing downtown events, managing and maintaining cemeteries, and full-service fleet maintenance for all city departments, including emergency vehicles.
This month, we hosted a special luncheon at our Opelika project to celebrate the renewal of our contract with Opelika and to honor our long-standing partnership with the city. It was also an opportunity to express our gratitude to Mike Hilyer, who has played a pivotal role in the success of our operations in Opelika over the last 19 years!
Now, as Mike transitions to a new role in Inframark, we are pleased to introduce John Gwin as our new Project Manager in Opelika. John, an Auburn graduate with experience in engineering and construction, brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. Neil Counts, Regional Vice President – South Region, said, “We’re truly honored to serve Opelika. We are thankful for Mike’s many contributions to this partnership over the years, and we’re confident that John and the team will build on our tradition of service excellence. As we continue our Quest for Excellence, we look forward to supporting the city with exceptional technical expertise, expansive capabilities, and an elevated level of service that has defined our partnership for nearly two decades.”
